Saltwater Sky

This daily view of the sea that spreads before me,
The beauty of Shonan,
To capture it was the only thing that mattered to me.
Resulting from the process which started from reviving each moments accumulated in my memory, going
through them carefully, searching and hoping to meet something new in the same hours, on the same beaches.
The sea had not changed. Or rather, it invited me with greater beauty than before.
In the winter, standing alone on the coastline in the pitch darkness before dawn, the deep silence would take
over the place, creating a sensation of melting __me and the camera__ into infinitely changing space and time.
It was like in those old days when I still had burning desire for good waves, I would often enjoy the ride in the
darkness of the night with just the sound and the moon light to lead my way. Sereneness and openness was there
for sure. More than any words could ever say.
It all started when I started to live here.
And now after all these years, this book enables me to express my feeling of thankfulness to the place that’s sodear to me.
